A mountaineer who was in the Iztaccíhuatl, reports that there were three micro-earthquakes, which coincidentally coincide with the three gas explosions, and then a tremendous rain of ash. I include photos of the 3 exhalations.

The Department of Seismology and Volcanism of the Institute of Geological and Atmospheric Research (IIGEA) reported on its Twitter account that the Iztaccíhuatl volcano recorded a rare explosion on the southern slope at 05:11 a.m. on October 22. The authorities reported that it could be due to an accumulation of gases.
